Quarter to Three
The 10 Best Films of 2007
That's right! It's time for the yearly 10-best list of Quarter to Three (this blog). One of the problems, as you may remember, is that I don't quite see 10 films a year. Anyway, without further hesitation, here it is:
1. The Lives of Others (directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck)
2. I'm Not There (directed by Todd Haynes)
3. Greensboro: Closer to the Truth (directed by Adam Zucker)
4. L'avocat de la Terreur [Terror's Advocate] (directed by Barbet Schroeder)
5. No Country for Old Men (directed by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen)+
6. Oswald's Ghost (directed by Robert Stone)
7. The Fiddle and the Drum (directed by Joni Mitchell and Jean Grand-Maitre)
8. Shrinks (directed by Gregg Brown)*
9. Beirut: "Elephant Gun" (directed by Alma Har’el)**
10. Hope Is Emo***
*short film
** music video
***YouTube series
+ Perhaps here is a good place to reveal my palindrome about the Coen brothers:
No Coen's neocon.
