Help Yourself to Healing

Welcome to Help Yourself To Healing

Take a deep breath. You are alive! Savor the breath coming in and going out... The ongoing rhythm of life—until you die.

Part of the magnificence of human beings is that we can constantly renew ourselves, from the tiniest cell to the largest bone or muscle. We are doing this all the time without being taught how. Yet we can also learn how to enhance health and well-being. That's what this blog is about. Helping ourselves to healing!

The words heal and whole come from the same root: haleness, a state of robust good health or completeness to which we can all aspire. Hale and hearty describes a healthy, "whole-hearted" person. For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by how the body, mind, emotions, and spirit are all dynamically interconnected and involved in the healing process. For years, I've explored the phenomenon of ENERGY—times when we have so much energy we don't know what to do with it, and times when we are so depleted that we seem to have none, and how we can bring a healthful balance to our lives; to be whole-hearted. My own journey unfolded with a primary interest in bringing healing through emotional and spiritual work. Now since a bout of breast cancer four years ago, and writing a book I would never ever have dreamt of writing previously (AFTER SHOCK: From Cancer Diagnosis To Healing) I have lots to share.

This blog will not only be about how to take good care of the body but also about how the mind, the emotions, and the spirit each in turn contribute to healing the body. It will be as multi-faceted as we are! ...And very practical too. Sometimes very simple:

Slow down, take another deep breath, or two, or three. Breathe in the miracle of life and release any tension on the exhalation. You are on your way to helping yourself to healing.
